OGTAG- The Oil & Gas Trafficking Awareness Group – launched by OVS Group, wrapped up another 2019 was a very busy year for the group as operators and service companies continued to join the group’s efforts. Participation from the industry has nearly doubled from 2018 to 2019, with over 20 operators and 25+ service companies joining the meetings. Below are highlights from the year:

- OGTAG presented to 60+ attorneys at Hunton, Andrews, Kurth Continuing Learning Education -February 2019.
- OGTAG was awarded a GRIT award by Experience Energy / Pink Petro for the growth, innovation, talent and resiliency the group has demonstrated. Press release here
- OVS Group’s CAO, Alexandria Alvarez Gerbasi, named class of 2019 “Top 40 under 40 Award” from the Houston Business Journal for her work at OVS and OGTAG. Article here
- The Secretary of State held the Texas Businesses Against Trafficking (TBAT) forum in October 2019. OGTAG invited to share on the panel. Article here
- OGTAG presented at Petroleum Equipment & Services Association (PESA) ESG day event with more than 20 companies represented. More information here
- OGTAG joined panel discussions with State of Texas Bar Association International Human Rights Committee at Vinson & Elkins. Article here.
- OGTAG presented at Total’s Business Ethics Day Dec 2019 to over 300+ employees.
- OGTAG collaborated with Truckers Against Trafficking to release an energy specific training video to train energy professionals on human trafficking. Click here for video.
- 6 OGTAG meetings held successfully at varying locations around Houston with industry peers and colleagues, presenting to over 200 people in meetings for 2019. Group continues to grow.
- OGTAG is hosting Energy Empowers Freedom tour, Jan 2020, in conjunction with National Human Trafficking Awareness Month. This is the first collaborative anti-trafficking awareness event for the energy industry. Participating companies: Chevron, Total, Marathon Oil, Shell, Apache Corp, ConocoPhillips, Equinor, Halliburton, Schlumberger, Weatherford, NOV, Crestwood, Stupp Corp, BASF, Port Houston, More than A Move, OVS Group, Seadrill and Exterran.
